JORDAN – taproom manager, distribution coordinator

Where did you come from?

Born and raised right here in Skowhegan, Maine and right on the grounds of Bigelow Brewing. However, it has changed a bit from the horse barn that I grew up in!

How did you get here?

After watching my parents for years make their dreams of opening a brewery (or man cave, as my Mom thought it would be for my dad) a reality, I jumped on board just a few months after they opened the tasting room back in 2014.

What do you do at Bigelow?

Jack of all trades but mostly I work in the taproom and distribution sales.

What do you do when you’re not at Bigelow?

You’ll probably find me enjoying the Maine outfoors, taking way too many photos of my pup, Avery, and my friends pup, Ranger. Or, spending time with my close friends and family.

Favorite style of beer?

Any beer!

Favorite Bigelow Beer?

How do I choose one?! I don’t have a favorite but I would say Dementia Dog DIPA is my go to but I also love the Avery Peak Wheat Ale when I want somehting lighter. In the fall I change it up and go for the Witch’s Tit Pumpkin Ale.

Favorite non-Bigelow Beer?

Again, how do I pick one?! That’s impossible to choose when there are so many local Maine beers that I love.

Most Likely to be overheard?

“Avery, come!” “Oh, *insert one of the dogs’ names!” “Who turned the fireplace on?!”

Quote?

“Drink Maine Beer!”

Hopes and dreams?

I can’t wait to see how our new expansion, renovating a building and moving the brewery to downtown, will help with the revitalization project that is currently ongoing with Main Street Skowhegan. Growing up here & seeing that building slowly fall apart makes me that much more excited to know that I’ll soon see if come back to life & help bring new businesses to our community.

WHAT DO YOU DO AT BIGELOW?

I was originally hired to fill a kitchen position but I also was able to fill the not-yet-established social media/marketing position, which was my end goal anyway!

Favorite style of beer?

I don’t discriminate. I gravitate towards hoppy ones, though.

Favorite Bigelow Beer?

Dementia Dog but it makes me make too many typos when I’m trying to work. Jailbreak Chocolate Chili Stout is my alternate when I’m in the mood.

Favorite non-Bigelow Beer?

I like to try whatever is most funky, unique, or new to me when I’m out and about. Boomsauce by Lord Hobo is usually my go-to otherwise.

Most Likely to be overheard?

“WAIT. Lemme take a picture!”
